I can’t quite believe it’s been six years since I started The Classic Movie Muse. Time really does fly when you’re watching good movies!
When I first launched this blog, I just wanted to share the films I’ve loved my whole life with anyone who would listen. Classic movies have shaped how I see the world, and I had this instinct that others connected with them in the same way. Turns out, I was right.
That’s been the best part of these six years–engaging with you all in this incredible community of classic film fans.

Along the way, I’ve finally come to understand what I’m doing here: sharing films that have taken hold of me, and exploring why they won’t let go. Some films I write about because I can’t stop thinking about them. Others because I need to understand what gives them their enduring power. Often, it’s both.
This felt like the right time to refresh things to reflect that.
There’s a new tagline: where old films resonate anew. There’s also a new logo and fresh updates to my about page and sidebar bio–all to better capture what I’ve been doing all along.

Thank you for being part of this. Whether you’ve been here from the start or just found me, I’m grateful. I hope you’ll explore the refreshed site and let me know what you think.
What’s Coming: Svengali (1931) and John Barrymore’s unexpectedly vulnerable performance, plus posts on Hitchcock and other films I can’t stop thinking about.
Here’s to you, to the next chapter–and to all the wonderful films still waiting…

Congratulations on the anniversary, and for growing a great looking site. Blogging can be both tiring and rewarding, often at the same time but it’s a hard habit to break once you get a taste for it. Long may it continue.
